Pat is in ICU at Mountain View Hospital. She had a hard time breathing last night and the doctor has discovered at least two blood clots in her lungs. She cannot receive visitors right now. They have given her medication to dissolve the clots and now she must play the waiting game. Please pray for her. I will update her progress as I receive it.

Talked to Pat this morning. She sounded wonderful! She said she would love to have phone calls and visitors now after 2:00 p.m. That gives her time to get through physical therapy and rest a bit. Physically she is still struggling but emotionally she is her positive, happy self. Love you Pat!

As we all know, Pat is home and doing fairly well. She is actually receiving antibiotics at home so she doesn't have to go to the hospital for that treatment every day. It was wonderful to see her at Sacrament Meeting last Sunday. Our ward feels whole again. We love you Pat!

May 14, 2009

Talked to Pat tonight. She was at Coldstone with her family. She is feeling better and is home again. She will need to go daily to the hospital for IV antibiotics for several weeks. Pat said her mother and sisters will be helping her. I will twist her arm a bit and hopefully she will let her friends help her too. You all know Pat. Always the giver. Having a hard time learning to receive.
I LOVE YOU, PAT!

Pat had to be admitted back into the hospital on Sunday. She had a reaction to the antibiotic she was on. She is doing well now though and should be home Wednesday. We love and miss you, Pat!

Keri Minson just visited with Pat and Pat asked her to call me with info to update the blog so we know she is doing well. Pat's inscision was opened up and cleaned out yesterday. She is doing well and will probably be home Thursday. She will have to go in weekly for antibiotic treatments.
Her husband has requested no visitors until her family gets her home and on a schedule. I will let you know when I get the okay for visitors from her husband.

I am sad to report that Pat has had a minor set back. She has an infection and her doctor thinks it may be on the hardware they put in her back. They will have to open up the inscision and clean it out. Please do not visit or call her until we get the go ahead from her husband as she will need a few days to recover from the anesthesia required for the surgery. Your faith and prayers are what she needs most. I will let you know how she is doing as soon as I get word.

Barring any unforseen problems, Pat will be home on Wednesday!
Anyone visiting her at the hospital between now and then and when she gets home, please use hand sanitizer right before and after your visit. Just a kind precaution, for you as well as Pat,
as she has a small infection on her hand. Thank you!

April 30, 2009

The Cherry Ridge Ward Relief Society presidency visited Pat in the re-hab unit two days ago and she is awesome! Bless her heart. She even did her visiting teaching by phone. So like her to continue to put others first. The doctors told Pat when she was in the ICU to count on two weeks in ICU, two weeks in a regular room, and two weeks in the re-hab unit. Today is day fifteen and she has been in re-hab for five days. She was able to attend Sacrament Meeting on Sunday and enjoyed that she was allowed to attend in her dark green sweats. She enjoyed the service but said she thought about her ward family and missed them the whole time. She has a room mate named Deann who seems to love her as much as we do. Pat has received lots of little notes and pictures from her school kids but her favorite was a letter that said "I'm sorry you broke your back and your brain." It came with a hand drawn picture of her in a wheel chair with brains coming out the side of her head. She laughed til her stomache hurt.

April 27, 2009

There is not alot to report about Pat. Each day she improves more. She is up and walking, enjoying solid food, feeling stronger every day. Bishop will probably find out on Thursday how much longer she will be in the hospital.
Thanks to everyone for cards sent, calls made, meals prepared, visits, and refraining from visits so that Pat may rest. She sends love and gratitude to all.

Pat is still doing better each day, just as we would all expect of her. Bishop requested we stop bringing in food for awhile as thier freezer is full of left-overs and they are working on what they have in the fridge. Thanks to all who have been so generous in the meal department and to those who have called to offer assisstance of any kind. Please continue to include Pat in your prayers and if you feel you must do something a little more physical, send a card or letter. We need to be careful not to overwhelm Pat with hospital visits. They have requested that visits to her only happen between 7:00-8:00 p.m. The healing process requires much rest. Pat needs alot of quiet time right now. Thank you!

April 22,2009

Just visited Pat in the hospital. She looked great for all she has been through. Still a little loopy from pain medication. She was especially pleased that Tracy Julian had been in to fix her nails. Pat had Tracy do her nails just before the accident and was very irritated that one of them broke in the accident. Thanks Tracy. You made her day!

Pat was moved out of ICU today! Hooray for her! She is progressing well but is not quite up to having visitors yet. Bishop and Tannon Both returned to school today and Lizzie is her bright, beautiful, cheery self. Some semblance of normalcy seems to be returning to the family. Continue to be prayerful for the Bradleys as they still have challenges ahead. Leave a message on the blog or bombard thier mail box with well wishes. That would be fun for them to look forward to each day!

April 18

On Wednesday evening Bishop Paul Bradley, his wife Pat, and children Lizzie and Tannen, and friend David Claire, Jr. were in an accident outside Cedar City. They were pulling thier trailer to go camping with friends for Spring Break and ran into some wind. The trailor jack-knifed and their Suburban rolled. All were able to get out except Pat. She was cut from the vehicle and flown to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
Pat's injuries include two crushed vertebrae, four broken ribs, a fractured clavicle, a fractured sternum, a basal skull fracture, bruised lungs, a torn ear, and facial lacerations. A plastic surgeon has fixed her ear and lacerations and she had surgery this morning to correct the broken vertebrae. It went very well and her surgeon hopes to have her up walking by this evening. Bishop and the others sustained only minor injuries and are all doing well.
This blog will be updated daily. You are welcome to leave a message for Pat, and I will be sure to get it to her.
